Nitrile Rubber Sheet & Roll

Nitrile rubber sheet is flexible closed-cell elastomeric insulation used on air-conditioning ducts, air handling units, cold storage walls and tanks. It is cut and wrapped around flat, curved and irregular surfaces, and its closed-cell structure limits vapor transmission, which helps prevent condensation on cold surfaces. Rolls are 1 m wide and 8 m or 15 m long.

Nitrile rubber sheet works from -40°C to +105°C, with thermal conductivity of 0.033 to 0.040 W/mK at 0°C. That range suits chilled water equipment, refrigeration and air-conditioning duct surfaces. For ducts or equipment running hotter than 105°C, a mineral wool product such as Rockwool LRB Slab is used instead.

Nitrile rubber sheet comes in 3, 6, 9, 13, 19, 25, 32, 40 and 50 mm thickness. The right thickness for a duct depends on the air temperature inside, the ambient temperature and the humidity, because the outer surface must stay above dew point to avoid condensation. Self-adhesive (SA) nitrile rubber sheet has a factory-applied adhesive layer under a release liner, so it is peeled and pressed onto clean duct or equipment surfaces, which speeds up work on ductwork and AHU panels. Plain sheet is bonded with Contact Adhesive applied on site and is often used on tanks and irregular shapes. Seams on both types are glued.

Nitrile Rubber Sheet & Roll is preferred on chilled and cold air ducts, especially in humid areas, because its closed-cell structure resists moisture and does not rely on a separate vapor barrier facing. Glass Wool Roll & Blanket is an economical choice where a foil facing provides the vapor barrier or condensation risk is low. Nitrile sheet also gives a clean black finish in exposed areas.

Nitrile rubber sheet is rolled, poly-wrapped and packed in cartons, and each 1 m wide roll covers 8 m² or 15 m² depending on roll length. To order, calculate the surface area with an allowance for cutting waste, then specify thickness, plain or SA backing and the number of rolls. Rolls can share a container with tubes, adhesive and tapes.

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of oil before bonding. Plain sheet is fixed with Contact Adhesive on both surfaces, left until touch-dry, then pressed in place; SA sheet is peeled and pressed firmly. Butt joints are glued edge to edge, and exposed seams can be covered with PVC & Cloth Insulation Tape. On outdoor tanks, protect the sheet from UV with cladding or a coating.

Nitrile rubber sheet is listed to ASTM C534 and BS EN 14304, the specifications for flexible elastomeric foam insulation, and is fire rated Class O / Class 1 to BS 476. Its water vapor resistance factor is above 7000, so the sheet itself acts as the vapor barrier when all seams and edges are sealed. Standard color is black.

Nitrile rubber sheet and roll is exported under HS code 40081190, plates, sheets and strip of vulcanized rubber. This differs from the heading used for nitrile rubber tube, so list the two separately on the commercial invoice when they ship together. The importer's customs broker should confirm the national sub-heading and duty.
